Work and Pensions Secretary Iain Duncan Smith has issued a plea to businesses to take on jobless British youths – rather than migrant workers.
In a speech the former Conservative Party leader said the Government’s attempts to cut unemployment are doomed to fail unless immigration is brought under control.
He quoted new figures suggesting that more than half of new jobs are now being taken by foreigners.
Mr Duncan Smith called on businesses to recruit jobless British workers, rather than taking on immigrants.
“Good immigration is managed immigration – it should not be an excuse to import labour to take up posts which could be filled by people already in Britain.
“Controlling immigration is critical or we will risk losing another generation to dependency and hopelessness.”
His comments, in a speech to the Spanish Foundation for Analysis and Social Studies thinktank (FAES) in Madrid, appear to echo Gordon Brown’s promise of “British jobs for British workers”.
The former PM’s 2007 pledge was widely criticised – not least by Conservatives – when it emerged that around 80% of the jobs created during Labour’s time in power went to migrants.
But official figures unearthed by Labour MP Frank Field show 87% of the 400,000 jobs created over the first year of the coalition went to workers from abroad.
Mr Duncan Smith said: “We have to ensure that our immigration system works in the interests of Britain, enabling us to make a realistic promise to our young school-leavers.
“It is part of our contract with the British people.
“This Government is reforming welfare to make work pay, and to help people back to work.
“We are toughening sanctions against those who refuse to take jobs when they are available.
“But we also need an immigration system that gives the unemployed a level playing field.
“If we do not get this right then we risk leaving more British citizens out of work, and the most vulnerable group who will be the most affected are young people.”

Where’s the off switch

Sometimes I wish I had an off switch for my brain.

I know it sounds odd but I never seem to be able to unwind/turn off, even when I’m laying on my bed or on a sofa my mind is racing through many thought’s and idea’s, when I get an idea for something I want to build/make my brain goes into overdrive thinking about what equipment I need and how I’m going to connect things what’s really annoying is when I try to put these idea’s onto paper (or notepad.exe for us geeks) my brain just seem to go blank.

One of my last projects what a rechargeable battery pack for my iphone, I mainly built this as I was getting fed up of my iphone battery running out.

Difference between COMPLETE & FINISHED….

People say there is no difference between COMPLETE FINISHED….
But there is. When you marry the right one, you are COMPLETE….
And when you marry the wrong one, you are FINISHED…..
And when the right one catches you with the wrong one, you are…COMPLETELY FINISHED

Guys’ Rules

At last a guy has taken the time to write this all down. Finally, the guys’
side of the story. (I must admit, it’s pretty good). We always hear “the
rules” from the female point of view… Now here are the rules from the male
side.. These are our rules!
Please note… these are all numbered “1” ON PURPOSE!
1. Men ARE NOT mind readers.
1. Learn to work the toilet seat. You’re a big girl. If it’s up, put it
down. We need it up, you need it down. You don’t hear us complaining about
you leaving it down.
1. Sunday sports. It’s like the full moon or the changing of the tides. Let
it be.
1. Shopping is NOT a sport. And no, we are never going to think of it that
way.
1. Crying is blackmail.
1. Ask for what you want. Let us be clear on this one: Subtle hints do not
work! Strong hints do not work! Obvious hints do not work! Just say it!
1. Yes and No are perfectly Acceptable answers to almost every question.
1. Come to us with a problem only If you want help solving it. That’s what
we do.
Sympathy is what your girlfriends are for.
1. A headache that lasts for 17 months is a problem. See a doctor.
1. Anything we said 6 months ago is inadmissible in an argument. In fact,
all comments become null and void after 7 Days.
1. If you won’t dress like the Victoria ‘s Secret girls, don’t expect us to
act like soap opera guys.
1. If you think you’re fat, you probably are. Don’t ask us.
1. If something we said can be interpreted two ways and one of the ways
makes you sad or angry, we meant the other one.
1. You can either ask us to do something or tell us how you want it done.
Not both.
If you already know best how to do it, just do it yourself.
1. Whenever possible, Please say whatever you have to say during
commercials.
1. Christopher Columbus did NOT need directions and neither do we.
1. ALL men see in only 16 colors, like Windows default settings. Peach, for
example, is a fruit, not A color. Pumpkin is also a fruit. We have no idea
what mauve is.
1. If it itches, it will Be scratched. We do that.
1. If we ask what is wrong and you say “nothing,” We will act like nothing’s
wrong. We know you are lying, but it is just not worth the hassle.
1. If you ask a question you don’t want an answer to, Expect an answer you
don’t want to hear.
1. When we have to go somewhere, absolutely anything you wear Is
fine…Really.
1. Don’t ask us what we’re thinking about unless you are prepared to discuss
such topics as baseball, the shotgun formation, or golf.
1. You have enough clothes.
1. You have too many shoes..
1. I am in shape. Round IS a shape!
1. Thank you for reading this. Yes, I know, I have to sleep on the couch
tonight;
But did you know men really don’t mind that? It’s like camping.

Top 3 Anime DVD’s I own

Appleseed
It’s 2131 AD and the future of the human race hangs in the balance. Female soldier Deunan Knute has survived a major war that has pushed the earth to the brink of destruction. Located in a bombed-out urban wasteland, Deunan is transported to the Utopian city of Olympus and reunited with her former lover Briareos whose body is now half man, half cyborg. In Olympus City, half the population is made up of Bioroids, a genetically engineered species with a limited life span who are designed without unstable human emotions in order to create a peaceful society and protect the remaining members of the human race.
Ninja Scroll – 10th Anniversary Edition
A peak achievement of Japanese anime, Ninja Scroll is a propulsive mix of samurai action-adventure and supernatural fantasy from writer-director Yoshiaki Kawajiri (Supernatural Best City). This is defiantly animation for grown-ups, complete with fountains of blood, plenty of naked flesh and (in both the subtitled and dubbed versions) some decidedly strong language. (Students of Japanese language could pick up some useful expressions.) The plot sounds like a 16th-century variation on The X-Files: an entire village has been wiped out by a mysterious plague and an antigovernment conspiracy of invulnerable demons seems to be responsible. A wandering ninja, Jubei, and his female counterpart, Kagero, team up to defeat the plotters. Jubei is a classic reluctant hero, agreeing to participate in the mission only after being fed a slow-acting poison; the antidote will be supplied after he cooperates. And Kagero, a looker whose embrace is lethal, is a femme fatale with a difference that seems distinctively Japanese: sexual contact itself is poisonous, especially for a warrior with a pure soul.
Yukikaze Collection
Unbeknownst to the general population, 33 years ago, an alien force, the JAM, opened an interdimensional gate in Antarctica to invade the Earth. In response to this threat, the unified forces of Earth formed a military unit to combat these aliens, successfully pushing them back to the planet codenamed: Fairy.
Even now, the war still rages on. Rei Fukai, a pilot of the elite FAF unit of the Special Air Force (SAF), flies the Yukikaze, an advanced fighter with a near sentient computer control system. However, the recent infiltration of human disguised-JAM agents has begun to blur the lines between friend and foe. As the SAF’s own fighters begin to turn against their own forces, the Final Battle for the skies of Fairy and control of ‘the Passageway’ to Earth will rest in the hands of Rei, and the only thing he can trust: the Yukikaze.

James’s Journal Is Moving Home

Hi Everyone,
Just a quick note to let you all know that “James’s Journal” is on the move, I’ve been hosting my website on my own server here at home for a while now and considering that the server is located in my bed room I’ve finally had enough of the noise, heat and the maintenance thats invloved with running a server so I decided a few months ago to find a hosting company that will give me more than one database and a decent about of webspace and last week I found the ideal company called Heartinternet.
Heartinternet are a UK based hosting company that offers a decently priced hosting solution and very helpful support staff. I bought the Home Professional account which is only £8.99 a month.
So to cut a long story short, I am in the middle of moving the site to my new hosting area, during which time you might see the odd “oops page not found” page.
