{"id":1332,"date":"2011-03-22T07:25:26","date_gmt":"2011-03-22T07:25:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.puerilis.co.uk\/?page_id=1332"},"modified":"2011-03-22T07:25:26","modified_gmt":"2011-03-22T07:25:26","slug":"turn-a-laptop-lcd-into-a-pc-lcd","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/www.puerilis.co.uk\/?page_id=1332","title":{"rendered":"Turn A Laptop LCD into a PC LCD"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Okay this is what you need to do in order to make your laptop LCD into a PC LCD.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Dismantle the laptop slowly &amp; carefully by removing all of the screws in the casing<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Once the screws are out the laptop should start to separate and you are able to disassemble the LCD from its casing and carefully unplug any cables from the \u00a0main board.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px; font-family: Georgia, 'Bitstream Charter', serif; line-height: 24px;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.puerilis.co.uk\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/Laptop-LCD.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"Laptop LCD\" src=\"http:\/\/www.puerilis.co.uk\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/Laptop-LCD.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px; font-family: Georgia, 'Bitstream Charter', serif; line-height: 24px;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>On the back on the screen there will be a model number like this<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.puerilis.co.uk\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/laptopscreenmodel.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"laptopscreenmodel\" src=\"http:\/\/www.puerilis.co.uk\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/laptopscreenmodel.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"82\" \/><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: x-small;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">No<\/span><span style=\"font-size: small;\">w the next part requires a little research on the internet, using google seach for the model number that is on the back of the LCD panel, you are looking for a datasheet for the LCD so try using the search term &#8221; &lt;model number&gt; datasheet&#8221; so for my LCD panel I searched for &#8220;LQ170M1LA4B datasheet&#8221; most of the sites that have the datasheets are in china and they will have an email link to request the datasheet.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: x-small;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Once you have your datasheet you will contact\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.njytouch.com\">http:\/\/www.njytouch.com<\/a> or email them at\u00a0sales@njytouch.com asking if they have a suitable controller card for your LCD screen and attach the datasheet for your panel.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: x-small;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"font-size: small;\">\n<li>After a few days (giving time for time zone difference) you hopefully will get an email from them with information on a compatible LCD controller board <a href=\"http:\/\/www.njytouch.com\/RM5451.htm\">such as this<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: x-small;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Updated 26 march 2011<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"font-size: 13px;\">The controller kit came today, on the left is the back light inverter, in the middle is the power button and control board and on the right is the main converter board, I connected the LCD to the board and it all worked, now to build the housing &#8230;..TBC&#8230;.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.puerilis.co.uk\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/LCD-controller.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-1347\" title=\"LCD controller\" src=\"http:\/\/www.puerilis.co.uk\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/LCD-controller-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Okay this is what you need to do in order to make your laptop LCD into a PC LCD.
